CDS student Garima tops Std X in ICSE

Nagpur: Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced its board exams results for both X and XII on Sunday. Though the official name for the board is CISCE, it is popularly known as ICSE which is basically the name of the certificate it awards to students who pass Std X. The Std XII section is known as ISC. In Nagpur, there are only four schools who offer Std X level, whereas only one of them as Std XII.

Chanda Devi Saraf School (CDS) has both X and XII, while MSB Institute, Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) and Marie Poussepin Academy (MPA) have classes till Std X. SFS School of Excellence (Seminary Hills) is also affiliated to the same board, but its current batch is yet to reach Std X. In Nagpur, CDS student Garima Kadwe topped Std X with 99%, followed by Kaivalya Chaudhari (97.8%) of Marie Poussepin Academy. The third spot was shared by students of MPA Aakash Singh and Yuvraj Oberai with score of 97.2%. For Std XII, the sole school in Vidarbha — CDS — saw its student Prerna Bhagele scoring 92.75%. Std X topper Garima Kadwe said, “I had expected my results to be so high since I’ve been preparing since day one. I used to make notes of whatever the teachers taught in the class which helped a lot in revision. My teachers were very experienced and they taught as per the paper pattern which helped a lot as well and most importantly, I read the ‘Pupil's Analysis’ for the last 10 years, which I believe helped me the most. I’ve opted for science in grade 11 and 12 with physics, chemistry and maths as my subjects. I wish to study in IIT Bombay or Delhi and my goal is to be an aeronautical engineer.” Another student of Chanda Devi Saraf School Kashish Rakshak said, “I prepared for my exams in a consistent and stable manner, made my own notes for revision and I had set a routine for myself, especially for the last two months before my exams. I also solved past years’ papers on a daily basis. I want to pursue a career in science, with physics, chemistry, maths and computer science, and I’m inclined towards a research-based job.”Prerna Bhagele, the top scorer in Std XII exams, said, “I was confident. I recently appeared for NEET and I wish to become a doctor.”
