NAGPUR: Writer Hruday Chakradhar launched his fourth book ‘Ghazal Rajni Urja’ - an assortment of 100 ghazals written on the theme of dusk, on Tuesday. “Nights, moon and stars have always inspired me, it evokes emotions and calls for profound contemplation about love, life and society,” says the author.
“A lot of poetry has been written on daylight and sunshine; but I find darkness to be quite underrated.
Nights are my time of pondering over the issues pertaining to heart and life, and my book talks about the same,” he adds.
At the book launch ceremony organized at Arpan Hall Mor Bhavan at Sitabuldi, many noted violinists, ghazal singers and eminent personalities were present including Girish Gandhi, singer Bhimrao Panchale, violinist Prabhakar Dhakde, writer and a close friend Anil Surya and ghazal singer Pralhad Sonawane. A musical programme ‘Sangeet Rajnigandha’ was also organized post the book release, that showcased some famous ghazals and shayaris.
Dhakde while congratulating Chakradhar on his book said, “His writing has a rhythm, a flow which is difficult to master. When he read out his ghazals to me, I could hear the music and the finer tones in it.”
Panchade complimented the author on his writing style and concept saying, “Chakradhar has understood word play quite well, and the concept is quite unique. His current book is a specimen of the same.”
Surya and Gandhi complimented the author on his versatile personality, citing various instances from his personal life. “The conceptualization of his book is quite unique, the images compliment written matter excellently and are self-explanatory,” said Surya.
Gandhi said, “After retiring, Chakaradhar never sat at home but worked relentlessly for the uplift of youth. After he made his career, he helped in making others careers as well, never asking anything in return. A person’s poetry talks about his personality, and it stands true in Chakradhar’s case as well.”
