Nagpur: Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Wednesday dismissed Maha Vikas Aghadi's (MVA) allegations of EVM tampering, calling it baseless and disrespectful to the state's voters. He attributed Mahayuti alliance's landslide victory to effective governance, developmental policies, and strong leadership.
Speaking at a press conference, Bawankule lashed out at the Opposition for its inconsistent stance on EVMs. "Four months ago, after Lok Sabha polls, MVA did not question EVMs when their candidates won 31 seats in Maharashtra. Even in the recent Nanded by-election, where Congress emerged victorious, there was no outcry. These baseless allegations arise only when MVA loses."
The Kamptee MLA highlighted the sharp decline in MVA's vote share in the assembly polls, contrasting it with Mahayuti's significant gains.
Bawankule criticised the Opposition for undermining the democratic process, alleging EVM tampering charges reflect their desperation and inability to accept the public's verdict.
