Bhandara ZP members demand CEO’s removal

Bhandara: Forty-nine of the 52 Zilla

Parishad

(ZP) members have signed a no-confidence motion against CEO

Rajendra Nimbalkar

and requested ZP president for a special meeting to pass the motion at the earliest.
ZP members alleged that Nimbalkar abuses members and office bearers when they meet him in his office and never gives priority to development works, but created hurdles. They added that the senior government officer never implements resolutions passed by the standing committee, subject committees and the general body meetings. They also accused Nimbalkar of sidestepping questions regarding delay in implementation. Moreover, he transferred schoolteachers without adhering to norms, which created chaos, badly affecting students’ education and brought schools to the brink of closure, they claimed.
The ministry of rural development had stayed the mass transfer of teachers, but CEO Rajendra Nimbalkar paid no heed to the order. Several vacant posts of teachers in ZP schools could have been filled by accommodating teachers who came under inter-district transfer policy, but Nimbalkar was adamant on not allowing them to be recruited.
He had not yet given promotion to teachers, their roster was not updated and several teaching posts lay vacant despite a unanimous decision by the members to resolve the issue long back. The resolution allegedly not implemented by Nimbalkar includes the one on purchase of building material by gram panchayat up to Rs15 lakh. Under the pretext of e-tendering, he didn’t allow its implementation, thus preventing development of rural areas.
The Congress and NCP ruled

Bhandara ZP

also saw opposition BJP members signing the motion against Nimbalkar.
