Artistes win hearts at musical event ‘Carvaan’

Nagpur: Hit songs from Hindi movies were presented impressively by singers at a programme titled ‘Carvaan’, organized by Sejal Entertainment and Raj Music Events at Scientific Society Hall, Laxmi Nagar, on Wednesday.

The programme commenced on a devotional note with ‘Gurur Brahma’ and ‘Tune mujhe bulaya sherawaliye’, both sung by Sanjay Borkar, to mark the Navratri festivities.

This was followed by ‘Hume tumse pyar kitna’ by Nitin Jade and ‘Aao huzoor tumko sitaron mein le chalu’ by Nutan Bhelkar. ‘Dil to hai dil dil ka aitbaar’ was sung beautifully by Vanita Dhenge. The audience enjoyed ‘Yeh jawaani hai deewani’, sung by Harshal Thakre, and ‘Hum dono do premi’, a duet by Jay Tandon and Bhelkar.

This was followed by ‘Aate jaate khubsoorat’, sung by Jade, and ‘Kitna pyara wada hai’ by Thakre and Dhenge. Sejal Borkar mesmerized the audience with her beautiful voice. She presented ‘Jab chhaye mera jaadu’ and ‘Pyar karne wale pyar karte’.

Tandon won repeated applause when he sang ‘Mehbooba mehbooba’. Later, ‘Saare sheher mein aapsa’ was presented by Tandon and Bhelkar. ‘Waqt karta jo wafa aap hamare hote’, sung by Bhaskar Wagule, ‘Ajhun na aaye balma sawan beeta jay’ by Rupali Roy and Borkar and ‘Sun beliya shukriya meherbani’ by Dhenge and Thakre were appreciated.

During the show, a short video on Tandon, who organized the event, was screened. He said, “There are many people who are immensely talented, but don’t get an opportunity to perform on stage. I will encourage them. The purpose behind staging the show today was to promote talent. There’s nothing better than music that calms your soul,” said Tandon.
