Amravati Election Results 2024: Balwant Baswant Wankhade of Congress wins after securing 526271 votes

NEW DELHI: Balwant Baswant Wankhade of Indian National Congress won the Amravati Lok Sabha seat after securing 526271 votes.

Amravati is one of Maharashtra's 48 parliamentary constituencies.

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Amravati constituency participated in Phase 2 of polling on April 26. The area recorded a voter turnout of 63.67 per cent during this phase. Located in Maharashtra, Amravati falls under the scheduled caste category and boasts a literacy rate of 77.96%.

Noteworthy contenders in this constituency include Navneet Ravi Rana from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Balwant Baswant Wankhade from the Congress party, and Sanjaykumar Fattesingh Gadge from the Bahujan Samaj Party.

In the 2019 elections, Navaneet Kaur, running as an independent candidate, won the Amravati Lok Sabha seat. She defeated Anandrao Adsul by 36,951 votes, garnering 5,10,947 total votes. Navaneet Kaur currently serves as the MP for this constituency.

The Amravati Lok Sabha constituency includes Teosa, Achalpur, Daryapur (SC), Melghat (ST), Badnera, and Amravati assembly segments. The previous Lok Sabha elections saw a voter turnout of 60.36% with 25 candidates contesting.

In the 2014 general elections, Adsul Anandrao Vithoba of Shiv Sena secured victory with 465,363 votes, capturing 46.5% of the votes. Navneet Ravi Rana of the Nationalist Congress Party was the runner-up, receiving 328,556 votes and securing 32.8% of the total votes.
