Ambekar’s nephew booked for extortion
Nagpur:Gangster-turned-real estate dealer Santosh Ambekar‘s 23-year-old nephew Sunny Verma has been booked in an extortion case by Lakadganj police on Thursday. This follows a complaint from restobar owner Ankit Jain. Another nephew of Ambekar, Shailesh Kedar, too is in jail for being involved in several offences. It’s learnt that Jain, who owns a high-end restaurant at Dharampeth, was being threatened by Verma to cough up 50,000 as protection money.

Verma approached cops, who registered an offence. Senior PI SB Mane of Lakadganj police station said that Ambekar’s name has not come to fore as yet in the investigation so far.
Reliable sources from Itwari said a section of bullion traders and other local businessmen have also been troubled by Ambekar, who is seeking financial assistance from them to reconstruct an old temple near his residence. Some businessmen have already coughed up the demanded amount instead of approaching police out of fear.
Advocate booked for cheating, molestation
Advocate Bhaiyyasaheb Bhide was booked for cheating and molestation by Ambazari police station on Friday following a complaint filed by a 28-year-old woman. She claimed Bhide duped her to the tune of 50,000.
It’s learnt that the woman has contacted Bhide to file a case for her at district court. Bhide accepted 50,000 as expenses towards filing the case which was never done. When the woman started confronting Bhide, he is learnt to have furnished a fake order from court to her.

The matter took an ugly turn on October 29 when she visited Bhide’s Ram Nagar office. Bhide is learnt to have insulted the woman, hurled abuses and also manhandled her.
