Akola mayor's post for open candidate

AKOLA: The corporators of Akola Municipal Council will select a mayor from the open category candidates, as per the information received from Mantralaya in Mumbai, where the reservation procedure was completed on Tuesday.
Congress, NCP and its allies are presently ruling the council, with Congress' Madan Bhargad as the mayor for the last two-and-a-half years.The AMC has 19 Congress corporators, NCP 11, BJP 11, Shiv Sena 7, BRP-BMS 10 and independents and others 13 corporators.
New political equations are possible now that the reservation has been announced for the mayor's post. The NCP may try to install its candidate as mayor with help from some other parties.
