Nagpur: The DigiYatra facility for seamless, fast-track airport entry, operational at Nagpur airport for nearly a year, was formally inaugurated on Friday through a virtual ceremony by civil aviation minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu.
Though widely used by passengers over the past year, DigiYatra had technically been functioning on a trial basis at Nagpur and some other airports in the country, sources said. The formal inauguration now makes the service officially operational here.

Nayudu, who was in Coimbatore, virtually inaugurated the facility for Nagpur along with several other airports. The event was attended by officials of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Mihan India Limited, the airport operator.
DigiYatra enables contactless passenger processing using facial recognition technology. Travellers are required to download the DigiYatra app and upload their Aadhaar and ticket details prior to travel. The information is synced with the airport's facial recognition system. If the data matches, the e-gates open automatically, allowing passengers to enter within seconds, eliminating the need for manual verification of documents by CISF personnel.
