“Mr Suraj Tripathi, who was working as Chief Executive Officer at Alexis Multispeciality Hospital, has resigned from his post with immediate effect due to personal reasons on Tuesday, 14th January 2020,” reads the statement.

Mankapur police had booked Tripathi after the woman employee of the same hospital lodged a complaint of molestation against him on January 20. No arrest has been made so far in this case.

“Neither the complainant nor Mr Suraj Tripathi informed anything about the matter released in newspapers to the management or HR. There is no communication either with Mr Suraj Tripathi from the day he has resigned or with the complainant since she is on leave from 13th January 2020 till 17th January, and has further extended her leave due to personal reasons and has not reported back on duty till date,” the statement concluded.

Members of the management and HR team of Alexis Hospital told TOI that senior functionaries of the hospital management will reach Nagpur on Tuesday from UAE. Till then, they have issued the above statement after news about alleged molestation was published in the media.

According to the complaint by the woman, an employee of the same hospital, Dr Tripathi has been making undue advances towards her since their official trip to Oman in 2016. Mankapur police on Monday conducted a spot panchnama and found a CCTV camera installed in the office of the survivor. They also searched the office of the accused but nothing substantial was found.
