Nagpur: Allrounder Digvijay Deshmukh (132; 111b, 10x4, 8x6), Siddhesh Wath (100; 161b, 14x1, 1x6) of MRCC, Aakash Kumar (136; 139b, 12x4, 8x6), Shubham Dubey (103 n.o; 97b, 3x4, 11x6) of XI Star and Sandesh Durugwar (105 n.o; 188b, 10x4, 1x6) of Reshimbag Gymkhana hit centuries in their respective matches on Day 1 of first Dorairajan Trophy encounter on Friday.
Deshmukh and Wath took MRCC to 416 for 4 before they declared their innings against CDCC.Opting to bat, Wath and Nayan Chavan (67 off 94b) were involved in 107-run stand for the second wicket. Later, Wath and Deshmukh added 109 for the third wicket. Towards the end, Deshmukh and Updesh Rajput (56 n.o off 71b) weaved 105 for the fourth wicket before the centurion got out.
In another match at Khandala, Shubham and Kumar took XI Star to 410 for 9 against Advocate XI at stumps. Kumar stitched a sedate knock, while Dubey went all out hitting eleven balls over the rope with 3 hits to the fence. Dubey and Kumar were involved in a 154-run partnership.
In Reshimbag Gymkhana and Navniketan CC match, the former made 198 runs before getting all out. Durugwar top scored with unbeaten 105. Suniket Bingewar and Akshay Karnewar took 3 wickets apiece. In reply, Navniketan reached 5 for 1 by the end of day’s play.
