4 burglars netted, stolen items worth Rs 2 lakh recovered

Sleuths of crime branch, Nagpur unit, have busted a gang of four burglars who were active in MIDC, RP Nagar, Ambazari, Hinganghat in Wardha and Dhantoli. Cops have seized four bikes, three LCD televisions, home theatre, three gas cylinders, three gold rings, laptop and other material, worth over Rs2 lakh from them.

NAGPUR: Sleuths of crime branch, Nagpur unit, have busted a gang of four burglars who were active in MIDC, RP Nagar, Ambazari, Hinganghat in Wardha and Dhantoli. Cops have seized four bikes, three LCD televisions, home theatre, three gas cylinders, three gold rings, laptop and other material, worth over Rs2 lakh from them.
Addressing a press conference at crime branch office on Saturday, additional CP and DCP (crime) Ranjankumar Sharma said that the accused have around 22 offences registered against him at different police stations since 2010.

During interrogation, they have admitted to their involvement in nine thefts post Diwali, said Sharma.
Acting on a tip off following a burglary in Jaitala, API Pravin Patil rounded up two of the accused, Sanjay Sahare (24) and Abhishek Sinha (19), while carrying a laptop on bike. During interrogation, they disclosed names of their aides, including mastermind Rahul Suryavanshi alias Chotu (24) and Devanand Shirsath (22), who too were netted in Jaitala.
“The burglars, all school dropouts, used to sneak into locked houses,” the DCP said. The accused were presented before court which remanded them to police custody till December 14.
“Suryavanshi used stolen bikes for burglary. He was earlier booked for assault by Ambazari police. He had escaped from police custody and was absconding for around three months,” said Patil and added that Suryawanshi is alcohol addict and committed crimes so that he could buy liquor.
