200 couples to tie nuptial knot in a mass marriage
Chandrapur: Around 200 marriages will be solemnized during the three-day celebrations to mark the ‘Amrut Mahotsav’ of India’s Independence.
The fifth ‘Bramhotsav’ at the Balaji temple by Shri Venkateshwara Swami Temple Trust and its allied charitable organizations will also be a part of the celebrations.
President of the trust and former MP Naresh Puglia said the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of independence will begin with a musical programme by the popular Anand Shinde on Wednesday evening followed by a grand qawali competition between renowned singers Ustand Munnawar Masoom and Ruby Taj the following day.
Religious programmes under ‘Bramhotsav’ too will continue simultaneously during the day.

Similarly, another feast has been organized for devotees at the Mahakali temple and the Matoshree Old Age home on May 21. A separate marathon for men and women will be held on May 22 in the morning at Gandhi Chowk.

ceremony will be held on May 20. Around 200 couples hailing from different communities will tie the knot at a grand venue titled ‘Tirupati Balaji Nagri’ off Dalata Road. The marriage ceremony will be followed by a grand feast comprising 56 cuisines (chappan bhog). The feast will be open for all the citizens of Chandrapur,” said Puglia.Similarly, another feast has been organized for devotees at the Mahakali temple and the Matoshree Old Age home on May 21.
