Nagpur: In two separate incidents, two teenage students committed suicide after their parents reprimanded them for their faults.
In the first incident, 18-year-old Surashi Kumbhare, a Std XIIth science student, was found hanging by the ceiling at her Mhalgi Nagar residence on Friday afternoon. WPSI KD Kokane informed that Surashi’s father Ramesh had scolded her a couple of days back for watching television for long hours when her board exams were on.
Since then, Surashi was disturbed.
On Friday, Surashi’s mother Hemlata found her hanging by the bedroom ceiling. Police claimed that no suicide note was found in the room. Family members informed the police about the scolding Surashi got from her father a couple of days back. Surashi was rushed to a nearby hospital from where her case was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Doctors at GMCH declared her brought dead. A case of accidental death was registered at Hudkeshwar police station.
In another incident, 19-year-old Sagar Lad, first year commerce student, ended life after his father Omprakash Lad scolded him for misuse of petrol. Sagar was found hanging by the ceiling at his Kale layout, Zingabai Takli residence on Friday morning.
Family members informed that Lad had brought a bottle of petrol and stocked it for emergency purpose. However, Lad was enraged when Sagar used it for his two-wheeler. Sagar was so upset after being reprimanded that he chose to end life. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital where he was declared brought dead. No suicide note was found. Mankapur police has registered a case of an accidental death.
