2 days after opening, Pardi flyover shut one way due to waterlogging

The Pardi flyover in Nagpur, which recently opened to traffic after a seven-year delay, has experienced water logging issues. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has closed one lane of the flyover to rectify the problem, causing confusion and traffic congestion. The NHAI stated that such diversions may be expected until all pending works are completed. The remaining works, including a railway over bridge and under bridge, and a market, have a deadline of January 26, 2024, set by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

A part of the under-construction Pardi flyover in Nagpur will be open for traffic on September 19. The flyover, which is touted as Vidarbha's longest, is expected to be completed by January 26. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials have been instructed by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to open the flyover from Wardhaman Nagar to Pardi octroi post towards Bhandara. However, work on two more arms of the flyover is still ongoing. Gadkari has also expressed his concern about the development of the square where the flyover will end towards Kalamna APMC market.

After nine years of construction, three arms of the Pardi flyover in Nagpur have finally opened for traffic. The flyover, touted as Vidarbha's longest, has significantly reduced travel time from Wardhaman Nagar Colony to Pardi forest check post from 30 minutes to only six minutes. The remaining two arms of the flyover will open on January 26. The project, which was supposed to be completed in two years, has faced delays and cost over Rs 700 crore.
