2-day Khasdar cultural festival for senior citizens

Nagpur: The Khasdar Jyeshtha Nagrik Sanskrutik Mahotsav, a cultural festival dedicated to senior citizens, will be held on February 15 and 16 at Suresh Bhat Auditorium. Bollywood legends Jeetendra and Mithun Chakravarti will be present at the event, adding to its grandeur. Organised by the Jyeshtha Nagrik Pratishthan and Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav Samiti, the festival aims to entertain senior citizens, promote social engagement, and honour their contributions to society.Sharing details about the festival at a press conference in Nagpur on Tuesday, senior leader Datta Meghe said, "This festival is not just a cultural extravaganza but a tribute to the senior citizens who have contributed significantly to the society. We are delighted to have veteran actors Jeetendra and Mithun Chakravarti with us this year, making the event even more special."The festival will be inaugurated on February 15 by Jeetendra, with Union minister Nitin Gadkari presiding over the function. Datta Meghe will be the guest of honour. A special musical event, ‘Hits of Sameer Anjaan,' will follow, where Guinness World Record-holding lyricist Sameer Anjaan will share behind-the-scenes stories of Bollywood's most iconic songs.The concluding day, February 16, will witness the presence of veteran actor Mithun Chakravarti. The highlight of the day will be ‘Abhang Repost,' a unique fusion of devotional abhangs and contemporary music, performed by a group of talented Mumbai-based musicians.In addition to cultural programs, senior citizens who have excelled in various fields will be felicitated.
