Advika Bale
knows the currencies of 26 countries, can identify the seven wonders of the world and their nations and translate the names of animals from English to Marathi. No mean feat for the average adult, the achievement is all in a day’s play for the 18-month-old.
Asavari Bale
has been in disbelief since her daughter started speaking last month. Just as soon, Advika was rattling off everything her mother had read her since she was six months old. When Advika started crawling, Asavari began showing her alphabet, fruits and animal pictorial charts. “Then, when she was eight months old, I started teaching her about countries, currencies, the wonders of the world etc,” said Asavari. “At 10 months, she could identify all the body parts,” her father Sagar added.
TOI spent almost two hours with Advika and asked her 100 questions from a long list prepared by her parents. Advika answered all instantly — she faltered just twice, while readingaword chart. “Today, Advika only wants to study and look at books,” said Asavari. “She is hungry for knowledge,” Sagar added.
