1,200-page chargesheet filed in Rs 4.7cr employment scam
Nagpur: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Nagpur rural police filed a 1,200-page chargesheet in the Saoner court against five accused, who had duped 67 unemployed youths to the tune of Rs4.67 crore on the pretext of getting them government jobs.
The accused include Rakesh Khurana, Rajendra Tiwari, Shilpa Raju Palparty (40), Kundan Kumar alias Rahul Singh Ramesh Sharma (34), and Mohammad Danish Jishan Alam alias Danish Jishan Mohammad Alamgir (35). The latter two are both residents of Patna, Bihar.
Initially, Shilpa was believed to be the mastermind of this gang. But investigations revealed Rakesh Khurana as the main mastermind. Shilpa used to spy on customers and extort money from them.
Another member of this gang, Rajendra Tiwari, is underground in Kolkata. Fraud cases have been registered against Tiwari in various states and police are searching for him.
Tiwari used to call the unemployed to Kolkata to give fake job appointment letters. During the investigation conducted by EOW head Rajendra Nikam, it came to fore that Tiwari was to be medically examined at Kolkata.
Kelvad police registered a case of cheating against Shilpa and her accomplices. Amit Kove too was booked in the case. As soon as the case was registered, Kove allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison near Panchsheel Chowk. After that, the case was handed over to the EOW of Nagpur rural police from Kelvad police.
After investigating Kove’s death, the police learnt that he was instigated to commit suicide by Shilpa (40, a resident of Manewada), Rashid Alam (50, a resident of Kolkata), Kundan Kumar aka Rahul Singh (45, a resident of Kolkata), Rajendra Tiwari (50, a resident of Ajni), Rakesh Khurana (50, a resident of Clarke Town, Kadbi Chowk), Sattel Vaya (45, a resident of Kamptee), Hemant Nagpure (45, Pratap Nagar), Nikhil Koche (35, Manish Nagar), Gopal Tupar (45) and notorious goon Maroti Navva.
