12-year-old enters Guinness Book of World Records
Nagpur: 12-year-old
The record previously belonged to 27-year-old Arpan Sharma from Nepal, who memorized 42 objects in a minute. Mrunali broke this record by successfully memorizing 50 objects in perfect sequence.
The event began with placement of random objects on a numbered flex. Mrunali was given a minute to observe the placed objects which were then removed. She had 15 minutes to keep the objects sequentially on the flex.
Mrunali placed 53 objects out of which 50 were correct. She has already entered Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records for memorizing 395 articles of Indian constitution by heart. “As I had previously memorized the constitution, this was comparatively easy. I practised a lot for this as there was a time limit to it. Initially, the number was low but gradually I became confident. I did become quite anxious while placing the last few objects,” said Mrunali, while speaking to TOI.
The event was organized by the Inspire Group, run by Vaishali Kodhe, mother of Mrunali. “I was nervous the entire time she was keeping the objects and my heartbeat went fast. But once declared, I took a sigh of relief and felt utterly joyous. I am really proud to be her parent,” said Vaishali.
Ravindra Kulkarni and Bhaurao Deshmukh, sports teachers from Saraswati Vidyalaya and BKCP School, Kahnan respectively were the referees during the entire process.
The programme began with encouraging words from the dignitaries, that included Nanda Jichkar, mayor, Krishna Khopde, MLA, East Nagpur, Sonali Ghodmare, social worker, Sunil Waghmare and Sunita Dhote, Guinness World Record holders of ‘Longest individual singing marathon’ and ‘Longest span of mehendi application at a stretch’. Renowned eye specialist, Dr Anil Bajaj also graced the event.
