‘Young officers should handle cybercrime cases’
Mysuru: Cybercrimes are on the rise, and the ability to detect and handle these crimes should be vested in young officers, said retired police officer Puttamadaiah. After inaugurating Police Flag Day at the City Armed Reserve grounds, Puttamadaiah said that after the unification of Karnataka, the Police Flag in the Mysore state was different. It was changed, and in 1960, the State Police Act was implemented along with the welfare fund for retired police officers."The police department is distinct from other departments. There is no fixed time for work. One must always be prepared. Health issues can arise quickly, so it's important to take care of one's health. The way one conducts themselves in public life is crucial," he said."In these times, young officers need the strength to handle cybercrimes," he noted.A parade by different police wings, including the City and District Armed Reserve Force, City Civil Police, traffic division, and the KARP Mounted Company, marked the celebration.Karnataka Southern Range DIG MB Boralingaiah, commissioner of police Seema Latkar, superintendent of police N Vishnuvardhana, city DCPs Mutturaj, KPA director Channabasavanna, and other district-level officers were present.
