Yaduveer leads rally against Kodagu varsity merger plan
Madikeri: Mysore MP Yaduveer Wadiyar on Friday led a rally by the ABVP against the state govt's move to merge Kodagu University with the University of Mysore.
BJP MLC Suja Kushalappa and former minister Appachu Ranjan participated in a rally that started from the Kodagu University Jnana Kaveri campus in Chikka Aluvara of Kushalnagar taluk. It culminated at Kushalnagar town, which is about 10km away. Kodagu district is part of the Mysuru parliamentary segment.
Yaduveer demanded that the two MLAs from Kodagu district exert pressure on the chief minister to save Kodagu University.
Appachu Ranjan blamed the Congress govt's freebies for the lack of funds in the treasury towards development works, which resulted in a funds shortage to run various universities in the state.
