Woman puts her head out of moving bus window, dies

Mysuru: A woman passenger travelling in a KSRTC bus lost her life when she put her head out of the window of the moving bus in Mysuru. A speeding goods truck coming from the opposite direction brushed against her head, killing her on the spot near Nanjangud on Saturday. She died while seated in the bus, which was bound for Gundlupet, Chamarajanagar.
Police said the victim is Shivalingamma, 43, a resident of Alahalli in Gundlupet taluk, Chamarajanagar district.
The passenger was brushed past by another goods truck when the KSRTC bus was overtaking another vehicle. The bus was heading towards Gundlupet from Mysuru when the incident occurred.
The speeding goods truck did not stop after the accident, said Nanjangud Traffic Police. Traffic sub-inspector Siddaraju rushed to the spot along with his team and took necessary steps to shift the person to KR Hospital mortuary.
Police launched an operation to trace the absconding truck driver and truck. Nanjangud Traffic Police have registered a case, and an investigation is on.
