MYSURU: Bike-borne chain-snatchers appear to have found novel ways of to deprive women of their valuables. One of these is to push women to the ground after grabbing their gold chains with one hand, which makes it easy to flee with the stolen loot. MS Girijjamma, 72, a resident of RS Naidu Nagar, suffered a fracture on her left wrist after she was pushed to the ground by a thief who was riding pillion. Girijjamma had to undergo a surgery to get her wrist fixed, and is still in a state of shock. Around 6.45pm on September 7, a 30g gold chain was stolen from her; thankfully, police recovered the jewel within three weeks of the incident, which was returned to Girijjamma on Friday.
