Varsity changes research scholar's guide after complaint

MYSORE: The University of Mysore has made amends. It on Wednesday changed the guide of research scholar M Saritha following her request and appointed K Bhagya, associate professor in the department of studies in zoology, as her guide. The researcher will get fellowship too.This follows Sarithas request to the V-C seeking hisintervention to change her guide Shivabasavaiah against who she has made sexualharassment charges. The varsity suggested two names and appointed K Bhagya, whohas consented to guide Saritha. We have issued the orders and working onfellowship, V-C V G Talawar told The Times of India. Saritha saidshe wanted women faculty as her guide. This is not to say others are bad. But Ifeel safe with woman teacher as my guide, she explained. Meanwhile,the PG campus, Manasa Gangotri, was quite and it is business as usual.
