MYSORE: Renowned taxidermist Edwin Joubert Van Ingen was laid to rest beside his brothers at Bartholomew's graveyard on Mysore-Bangalore road on Wednesday.
His relatives and well-wishers paid their respect to the departed soul at the burial ground.
Ajith Lobo, a family friend, said the burial took place in the morning in the presence of Joubert's grandniece Tilly Gifford.
Joubert was buried next to his brothers - Botha Van Ingen and De Wet Van Ingen- following a funeral mass led by Bartholomew's priest Devkumar.
The staff of the National Museum of Natural History condoled the death of Joubert and said they salute him for his contribution to the museum.
"Joubert's trophies adorn many museums in the country. The National Museum of Natural History and its regional offices across the country will always remain indebted to him for his noble gesture of donating a huge portion of his collection,"
John Thomas, a scientist at the museum, said.
