There is no power crisis: Sadananda Gowda

Chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda on Friday said the recent good spell of rain has reduced power consumption in the state. According to him, there is no power crisis as power consumption has come down from 180 million units to 132 million units.

MYSORE: Chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda on Friday said the recent good spell of rain has reduced power consumption in the state. According to him, there is no power crisis as power consumption has come down from 180 million units to 132 million units.
Speaking to reporters here, the CM claimed that the BJP government has given more prominence to the production and distribution of power than any of previous governments.

"We are giving preference to generate 8,000 mega watts of power. We have also requested the Centre to supply power from the central grid to the state," he added.
When asked about the cabinet expansion, Gowda said he will discuss the matter with senior party leaders in the next three days. "We will expand the cabinet after getting the green signal from them," he added. On giving berths to new faces, Gowda merely said "this is not the time to disclose it".
