Talakad Ganga, Rani Vijayamahadevi win Psychiatrists Premier Cricket League
Mysuru: Talakad Ganga and Rani Vijayamahadevi emerged as the champions in the men's and women's categories, respectively, in the Psychiatrists Premier Cricket (PPC) League. The event was organised by the department of psychiatry, Mysore Medical College and Research Institute, in association with the Indian Psychiatric Society, Karnataka Chapter. It was conducted as part of the two-day Midterm-CME 2025 ‘Psychodermatology—in Clinical Practice' at Maharaja ground in the city on Sunday.In the men's finals, Talakad Ganga defeated Madakari, while in the women's finals, Rani Vijayamahadevi defeated Rani Abbakka. Earlier, as part of recreation for doctors, cricket matches for men and women were inaugurated by Nesara Satish, who led the Karnataka U-19 women's state team. Five teams in the men's category and four teams in the women's category took part in the league.The two-day Midterm CME 2025 was officially inaugurated by Dr Dakshayini KR, dean and director of MMCRI. The event aimed to enhance the clinical skills of practising doctors.President elect of the Indian Psychiatric Society, Dr TS Satyanarayana Rao, highlighted that the IPS Karnataka Chapter was the only state in the country to receive eight awards from the IPS. He commended the chapter's ongoing contributions to the field and encouraged them to continue their exemplary work. Dr Raveesh BN, organising chairman, Dr Abhijit R Honagodu, organising secretary, and Dr Anil Kumar, president elect, IPS Karnataka Chapter, were also present.
