Harshitha from of DYES Hostel for allegedly beating her junior Dimple, class IX student, recently.
After a marathon meeting with the parents of both the victim and the accused on Monday, K Suresh, assistant director of the department, suspended Harshitha. During the six-hour meeting, it came to light that Harshitha, final year BCom student, had allegedly slapped Dimple on Saturday. Before suspending Harshitha,
Suresh spoke to witnesses in the hostel. After going through the evidences and facts, it was decided to suspend Harshitha for five days. The issue was also brought to the notice of higher-ups, including DYES director, in Bengaluru.
On Wednesday, Agarwal ordered removal of Harshitha from the hostel. Speaking to STOI, Anupam said: "It came to our notice that Harshitha slapped her junior Dimple. We don't want students with such behaviour as they spoil hostel atmosphere. We have decided so keeping the interests of hostel inmates."
