Mysuru: Mysuru district, despite performing well in the SSLC exam by improving its pass percentage by 27, its state ranking has slipped to 20th place from the previous 15.
Only less than 2,000 students have failed in the exam as against 11,000 the previous year.
Madhuri of KPS, Yelwala, and Manasvi Pradeep of Vijaya Vittal School have topped with 624 marks each in Mysuru, and Lakshan of Adarsha Vidyalaya has come second in the district with 622 marks out of 625.
DDPI D Uday Kumar, who is basking in success with an excellent pass percentage of 94.5, said over 33,976 had appeared for exams, of whom 32,105 have passed. As many as 16 students have scored more than 620 marks, and about 482 have got more than 600 marks.
About 249 schools, including 77 govt ones, have scored 100% results. The district has 703 high schools.
According to Uday Kumar, the pass percentage was 67%, but this year it has increased to 95%, which is a rise of about 27%. He attributed success to teachers, BEOs and education department staffers for relentlessly working to improve the result. This year, only 1,870 students have failed as against 11k in 2025.
To a query, the DDPI said state-level ranking of districts is irrelevant as the number of students appearing for exam in each district is different and less compared to Mysuru.
