Mandya: Mandya district minister N Cheluvarayaswamy on Wednesday described chief minister
Siddaramaiah and deputy chief minister
DK Shivakumar as the “two eyes” of the govt, the party, and the state, praising their contributions.
Speaking to reporters in Mandya, the senior Vokkaliga leader maintained that there are no differences between the two leaders. He added that the final decision on leadership rests with the party high command.
Launching a sharp attack on the opposition, the minister said they neither have a credible governance record nor a clear vision for the future and are focused only on criticising the govt.
Responding to questions on the proposed breakfast meeting of ministers with the CM, Cheluvarayaswamy said details would be known only after attending it. He reiterated that there is no confusion within the
Congress and claimed that the confusion exists only in the opposition camp.
Reacting to state BJP president BY Vijayendra’s remarks that the CM’s resignation could lead to premature elections, the minister dismissed the statement, saying Vijayendra appeared eager to form a govt. He asserted that polls will not be held before 2028 and recalled that Congress had secured 136 seats in the assembly. He also advised BJP leaders to first resolve internal issues within their own party.
