MYSURU: The city on Sunday celebrated its achievements in the promotion of yoga, showcasing rare photographs of spiritual and yoga masters. The photographs included those of yoga maestros T Krishnamacharya, B K S Iyengar and K Pattabhi Jois - all of whom have roots in Mysuru. Photographs of noted actor Rajkumar performing various asanas were also part of the exhibition.

The exhibition is being held as part of Yoga Dasara being jointly organized by Mysuru Yoga Teaching Organizations, GSS Foundation and Himalaya Foundation at Nithyostava Auditorium near Sarada Vilas College.
Krishnaraja MLA M K Somashekar said that yoga is an effective tool to reduce stress and can aid in holistic living. It relives the practitioner from stress, he stated.
Mysuru Yoga Shala instructor T A Prakash said that Mysuru has emerged as a yoga hub and it is now a brand in itself.
