MYSORE: As it waits to create history by staging a nine-hour play, Rangayana could also get lucky in getting a theatre personality to head it.

We will initiate the process to convene the meeting of Ranga Samaj which will discuss the issue," he told reporters. Ranga Samaj is the apex body governing Rangayana headed by the chief minister which has to shortlist the names. The CM will select one of them.
"We don't want ad-hoc administration at Rangayana. But since the appointment is delayed, we don't want it to slump into inactiveness. But the process to appoint the director will start soon," he explained.
The post is vacant after theatre personality B Jayashree quit in June following differences with Rangayana artistes.
