Practising karate helps to stay physically fit: SP
Mysuru: Practising karate helps people to stay physically fit and mentally strong, said Mysuru superintendent of police Seema Latkar on Sunday.She was speaking after inaugurating ‘Karate for Self Defence’ programme organised by Mysuru Karate Association at the University of Mysore sports pavilion. Karate not only helps in maintaining physical fitness but helps achieve great heights if practiced with dedication, Latkar said. She added that children taking to learning karate is a good development.Kids performed various stunts much to the delight of the audience. Students from various schools performed ‘kata’ on the occasion.University of Mysuru physical education director Venkatesh, Karnataka State Karate Association president CS Arun Machaiah, department of youth services and sports assistant director K Suresh and district Karate Association president Sosale M Siddaraju were present. tnn
