A woman was hollering for help. Unlike other passersby, Nayaz didn't walk off after learning of the chain snatching incident. He decided to help Indravathi, 55, a homemaker, to nab the miscreant.
When he was told that the thief had fled towards his locality in Gayathripuram, he quickly calculated the thief's possible escape routes. thought he would have only one way to escape as either side of the road was covered with high compound wall.
"A minute later, I saw a youth boarding an auto near a fair price shop. He seemed to be in a hurry. My suspicion was right. I intercepted the auto on my two-wheeler. He tried to escape but was caught after a brief chase near MCC zonal office in Gayathripuram," said Nayaz.
