MYSORE: A total of 70 villagers including children who recently had wedding feast were affected by gastroenteritis on Thursday.
District health officer Dr Nagaraj Rao claimed there was outbreak of gastroenteritis in Salundi village of Nanjangud taluk and Kupya village in T Narasirpura taluk on Thursday. Villagers rushed to primary health centres with complaints of nausea and diarrhea.
It’s a case of food poisoning, the DHO said. All the 70 villagers affected by gastroenteritis had attended a marriage and had taken wedding feast on Sunday in T Narasipura. Even some of them who have traveled to Bangalore too have taken ill and they are being treated there.
All the affected including 10 children and a dozen women are out danger, the DHO stated.
