‘No support for strike call given by pourakarmikas’

Mysuru: Mysuru District Pourakarmika Federation will not support indefinite strike call given by pourakarmikas from July 1 in Mysuru.
Speaking to reporters, the federation’s district unit chief N Raja said that his association has taken this decision as state government promised to fulfil their demands including providing Rs 26, 287 monthly wages or Rs 31,287 to pourakarmikas working on contractual basis, direct payment pourakarmikas, underground drainage cleaning pourakarmikas.
He said senior officials from the state government had promised to fulfil their demands within few months at the recently held meeting convened by State Safai Karmachari Commission at Bengaluru. TNN
