No power supply at some areas in Mysuru today
Mysuru: Due to mainteance work taken up by Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), power supply will be affected in the following areas between 10am and 5pm on Friday: Ramanuja Road 1st to 9th Cross, Hosabandikeri, JSS Hospital, Agrahara, Basaveshwara Road, Chamundipuram, Tyagaraja Road, Gundurao Nagar, Datta Nagar, Muneshwar Nagar, Gowrishankar Nagar, Tavarekere, Jockey Quarters, Mysuru Race Course, KSRTC Sub-Urban Bus Stand, Nazarbad, Ittigegud, Government Guest House and surrounding areas, taluk office, D Devaraj Urs Road, Bengaluru-Nilgiri Road, Kuruibarahalli, Chamundi Hill, Siddhartha Nagar, Alanahalli, Giridarshini Layout, Sriharsha Road, Sayyajirao Road, Irwin Road, Dhanvantri Road and Shivarampet.Mock Parliament session heldMysuru: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Mysuru, in collaboration with Seshadripuram Degree College’s NSS unit, organised district-level neighbourhood Youth Parliament at the college. MN Nataraj, regional director, NYKS, southern states, inaugurated the event in the presence of Rekha J Shetty, MCC assistant commissioner (zone 5) and college principal Sowmya Erappa K. Nataraj highlighted Nehru Yuva Kendra’s efforts in organising various programmes for youth across its 766 branches nationwide, and urged youth to actively participate in initiatives like cleanliness drives and health awareness programmes. He underscored the importance of collective responsibility, stating while the govt plays a crucial role, organisations like Nehru Youth Kendras were established to complement their efforts. A mock Parliament session was organised for students as part of the event. Deeksha N, won the first prize, while K S Yashwanth won the second prize, and S Hemanth won the third prize. Raghavendra R, NSS programme officer, Abhishek Chavare, district youth officer, were present.CBI team conducts search at AIISHMysuru: A CBI team carried out searches at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) in the city on Thursday. According to sources, the team visited several departments of the institute and reviewed documents. CBI officials were tight-lipped about the development. When contacted, AIISH director M Pushpavathi said she was travelling.Man gets jail for sharing obscene pix Madikeri: Kodagu district sessions court has convicted a 50-year-old man in an IT Act case and sentenced him to five years imprisonment. Suresh, who is a resident of Ponnampet, has been convicted for sharing obscene pictures of a woman on social media, according to Kodagu SP K Ramarajan. Public prosecutor NP Devendra argued for the state. In 2020, a case was registered under the IT and SC/ST Atrocities Act at Siddapur police station against Suresh. Then DSP Gajendra Prasad led the probe and submitted the chargesheet on October 30, 2021. The court on Wednesday convicted Suresh and sentenced him to five years in jail, the SP stated in a release.
