MYSURU: Employees of the Karnataka State Remote Sensing Application Centre (KSRSAC), regional centre Mysuru have alleged various irregularities and harassment by the centre's director. The institute has 40 employees, including physically challenged persons, working as Geo Information System technicians. The institute's in-charge director DK Prabhuraj has been allegedly harassing employees, claimed Chandan, an employee of the centre.Though physically challenged employees face difficulties in travelling to distant places, the director has been deputing them to the Bengaluru centre. This demotivates them, they claimed. The regional centre was established in 2005 and the in-charge director has been cutting down manpower since his appointment in 2004, Chandan told TOI. Though the employees are well educated and have 8-10 years experience, the government is not paying them well, they claimed. Another employee Shamprasad said the authorities are threatening closure of the centre stating there are no projects on hand. The employees also alleged that though one of the employees committed suicide recently, the authorities didn't take any acton. Despite several attempts by the employees to meet Prabhuraj, they couldn't meet him or speak to him on the phone. When TOI called Prabhuraj for his comments, he did not take the call.
