Mysuru Kannada Habba to enthral citizens
Mysuru: Vijaya Karnataka, a sister publication of The Times of India, will organise Mysuru Kannada Habba on Sunday.
Various events have been lined up as part of the festival which will be held between 10am and 10pm at Kalamandira.
Major and medium industries minister Jagadish Shettar will inaugurate the festival. Pramoda Devi of Mysuru royal family will preside over the event. Writer Vasudhendra, and YD Rajanna, president, district Kannada Sahithya Parishat, will be the chief guests. Ranjeet Kate, CEO, Vijaya Karnataka and Bangalore Mirror, Harish Konemane, editor, Vijaya Karnataka will pbe resent.
Datta Vijayananda Tirtha Swamiji of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama will grace the event. District minister V Somanna will deliver the valedictory address. MLA S R Mahesh and BV Vasanth Kumar, chairman, Karnataka Sahithya Academy, will be the chief guests.
The valedictory will be held at 5.15pm.
Events:
As part of the event, numerous cultural activities will be held. In the morning at 9.30am, a procession of folk troupes will start at Kote Anjaneya temple on the palace premises. Writer Kalegowda Nagavara will inaugurate the procession. DCP (law and order) AN Prakash Gowda will be the chief guest.
A documentary ‘Wild Karnataka’ will be screened at 2pm at Kalamandir.
Social activist HV Rajeev and artist Badal Nanjundaswamy will inaugurate an art exhibition of artists and photographers at Suchitra Art Gallery. Music event by Anur Anantakrishna Sharma and students, discussion on the future of Mysuru, theatre songs by Disha and team of Natana, solo drum performance by Rachana Mysuru, fashion show by designer Jayanti Ballal and team, dance show by Vidwan Shridhar Jain and team, programme by humorist Gangavati Pranesh, Narasimha Joshi and Basavaraj Mahamani, will be the major attractions.
At Vanaranga, Chinnara Chilipili event will be inaugurated by actor, director Mandya Ramesh at 12 noon. VS Mallikarjuna Swamy, joint director, Rangayana and AIISH Director M. Pushpavati will be the chief guests.
The other highlights include book exhibitions, food outlets, art and craft, and exhibition.
