Min to name newborn lion cubs at Mys zoo

Mysuru: Forest minister Eshwar Khandre will be naming three lion cubs born in Mysuru Zoo. Presently Mysuru Zoo houses five adult lions, which include two females and three males and three lion cubs. Among these five adult lions, two are African lions, two are Asiatic and one is an Afro-Asiatic lion.
Two male cubs and one female
Five-year-old lioness Nirbhaya, an Afro-Asiatic lion received from Nandanvan jungle safari, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, in December 2021 and 6-year-old Lion Raju, received from Sakkarbaug Zoo, Gujarat, in 2019 under the animal exchange programme, were paired. Of the three cubs born of them, two are male and one is female. They are one-year-old.
GV Ranga Rao, additional principal chief conservator of forests & member secretary, Zoo Authority of Karnataka, Kumar Pushkar, additional principal chief conservator of forests (wildlife), Bengaluru, and D Mahesh Kumar, executive director, Mysuru Zoo will be present.
