Medical report on electrical accident victim out today

Mysuru: KR Hospital, which is treating Sitaram, a victim of an electrical accident, will submit a medical investigation report to the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) on Friday.
Sitaram, who was admitted to KR Hospital on directions from DLSA member secretary Justice Dinesh Hegde, underwent CT scan and other tests to investigate on injuries and treatment required for his complete recovery and his present condition.A team of doctors from various departments has been assigned to investigate the case and submit a report on Friday.
KR Hospital medical superintendent Dr B G Sagar said: “Based on the report by a panel, doctors will decide on the treatment and operations to be conducted on the patient. We will also provide counselling to Sitaram’s parents.” Sitaram, 18, suffered severe facial injuries in an electrical accident at a make-shift tent in Nagamangala taluk, Mandya district, in early February 2015. He was brought to JSS Hospital after receiving first aid at Adichunchanagiri Hospital at Nagamangala. After four months of treatment, Sitaram’s father Phoondev claimed he was forced to leave hospital.
Meanwhile, Phoondev alleged that he has received threatening phone calls from his son’s former employers. “From the day we were discharged from the private hospital and the matter appeared in newspapers, I’ve been receiving threatening calls from representatives of the company where we worked. We are living in fear in K R Hospital as there is nobody to protect us,” he said.
When TOI contacted, DLSA member-secretary Justice Dinesh Hegde, said that Phoondev has informed him about the threatening calls from a few people for which he will take necessary action.
