Hassan: Thousands of devotees, including dignitaries, visited the Hasanamba Temple on the second day, Friday. Among the visitors were deputy chief minister
DK Shivakumar, member of the Mysuru royal family Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, environmentalist Salumarada Thimmakka, MLC Suraj Revanna, MP Shreyas Patel, and MLA KM Shivalingegowda.
Shivakumar, along with his wife, visited the temple in the evening and offered a special puja. The festival will conclude on Nov 3, and devotees will be allowed to visit the temple for nine days. The temple opens once a year, and a large number of devotees throng the temple to have ‘darshan' of the goddess.
Shivakumar said he offered prayers for the well-being of the people of the state. This time, the state received good rain, and I prayed to the goddess for peace in the state, he said.
The DCM also appreciated the district administration for organising the festival in a grand and systematic manner. However, he declined to comment on politics.
