Mandya: Mandya district administration, in collaboration with the zilla panchayat, AYUSH department, Ayush Federation of India, Karnataka Govt AYUSH Medical Officers Association, and the women and child development department, is set to celebrate the 9th National Ayurveda Day at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday.
District AYUSH officer Dr BS Seethalakshmi said a series of programmes are organised as part of the event. These initiatives include health awareness sessions targeted at adolescent girls, NGOs, anganwadi workers, and teachers aged 45 and above.
Union minister for steel and heavy industries HD Kumaraswamy, who is Mandya MP, agriculture minister and Mandya district in-charge minister N Chaluvarayaswamy will attend.
Farmers' leader Sunanda Jayaram will address the audience on the theme ‘Women empowerment', followed by Dr Shruthi Sharma, a gynaecologist, who will discuss the role of ayurveda in supporting women's health.
In addition, the department plans to organise various awareness programmes in the coming days to further promote the benefits of ayurveda. This celebration aims to enhance public understanding of ayurveda and its relevance in contemporary health practices, particularly for women.
