Lokayukta catches survey officer red-handed

HASSAN: Lokayukta officials have caught a survey officer red-handedly while he was accepting Rs 4,000 bribe from a farmer at taluk office in Hassan.
Lokayukta SP A N Swamy said he received a complaint from Dayanand, a farmer of Yogihalli village in Hassan, against Krishnamurthy, a surveyor officer who had demanded Rs 4,000 to conduct the survey of his farmland, which include land survey numbers 43/1, 44/2, and 102/3 in Yogihalli village.The surveyor was caught while accepting the bribe on Friday morning.
Krishnamurthy has been arrested and the bribe amount recovered.
