Superintendent of police Mallikarjun Baladandi said the system aims to prevent day and night house break-ins as jurisdiction police will be informed about the absence of owners so that they can increase patrolling and keep a watch over homes.
Owners have to send a message to the above WhatsApp number and fill in details in Google Forms, which include information of owners, the date from which the house would be locked, the Google location of the house and a photo of the house so that police can accurately identify the locked home. A separate cell has been set up to monitor LHBS.
