Lecturer booked for misbehaving with student

MYSORE: An economics lecturer of a private college in Periyapatna was booked for allegedly misbehaving with a girl student on Friday.
Periyapatna police said Anith, 34, a lecturer at S Kanthi Subamma Thammaiah College near Periyapatna bus stand, has been accused of pulling the hand of a II PU girl in the staff room in the morning. The 18-year-old student, after informing her husband, filed a case against the lecturer.
In her complaint, the girl has accused Anith of pulling her hand while going through her assignment at the staff room. He has also allegedly made "offensive" remarks against her. The student told the police that two of her classmates were present at the time of the incident.
Following the complaint, police have taken up a case under IPC section 354 (outraging modesty of woman). The lecturer has been arrested.
