KRS dam musical fountain show suspended till Jan 1

Mandya: Tourists visiting the Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) Dam were left disappointed as the musical fountain show was suspended following the state mourning declared due to the demise of former PM Manmohan Singh, until Jan1. The KRS dam remains open to the public.
Since Friday, authorities at KRS dam faced challenges in addressing the concerns of disappointed visitors.
KRS executive engineer Jayanth V told TOI, "On average, around 8,000 tourists visit the dam every day. Since the suspension of the musical fountain, it has been an uphill task for our staff to explain the situation to the tourists. After consulting with the DC, we decided to suspend the musical fountain show till Jan 1."
The regular schedule for the musical fountain is from 7pm to 7.55pm on weekdays (Monday to Friday) and 6.30pm to 7.20pm on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). The entry fee for the KRS dam and Musical Fountain is Rs 50.
Mysuru Palace illumination
While visitors to the KRS dam may be disappointed, those heading to Mysuru Palace will not face the same situation. The iconic palace lights will be illuminated from 7pm to 9pm for four days starting from Sunday until New Year's Day. Illumination of Mysuru Palace was cancelled on Friday and Saturday to mourn the death of the former PM.
