Mysuru: Districts long known for their pleasant weather — Mysuru and Chamarajanagar — are now reeling under a heat wave, with temperatures rising sharply across taluks.HD Kote taluk recorded a maximum temperature of 39.6 °C Saturday (April 18). Residents said the heat during noon hours has become difficult to bear. "For the first time in recent years, the weather has turned extremely harsh. The impact of poor pre-monsoon rainfall is affecting everyone," said Kamalakar H, a green activist from Mysuru.Farmers' leader Honnur Prakash said water scarcity in green belt areas such as HD Kote, Hanur and Gundlupet has raised concerns about wild animals entering villages.Following the heat wave forecast, the Chamarajanagar district administration has directed schools and colleges not to make uniforms, blazers and ties mandatory.
