MYSURU

: During the second wave of Covid-19, from frontline warriors to tribal families staying deep inside forests of Chamarajanagar district,

Isha Foundation

has served the needy.


The initiative started with the distribution of fruits, biscuits and beverages to the medical fraternity and health care team of government hospitals in Bengaluru. Later, it was extended to 61 hospitals in 22 cities and 11 districts.

Sadhguru, founder of Isha Foundation has said the sole carrier in this pandemic is the human being. “If we as human beings become conscious and bring yoga into everyone’s life, stopping the pandemic in its tracks is much in our hands,” he has said.

The foundation distributed over 1,600 ration kits among the nomadic and semi nomadic tribes in Chamarajanagar and Chikkaballapur districts. Soliga, Kadu Kuruba and Jenu Kuruba tribes were taught yoga as part of the initiative.

A hospital was built in Chikkaballapur district with Isha Foundation being the major sponsor of medical equipment and hospital care items including

ECG

machines.

, Karnataka, said 250 Isha volunteers (doctors) have been volunteering online with BBMP and health department to coordinate with patients and families for the last two months.
