Husband gets threat calls

MYSORE: Soon after V-C V G Talawar and zoology professor Shivabasavaiah were booked by city police, research scholar M Saritha's husband D R Vijayakumar on Tuesday claimed he was receiving threat calls. He also said he was threatened by a group on Monday night warning him of dire consequences.
Vijayakumar told TOI he was summoned outside the private hospital late on Monday.The caller identified himself as a journalist. When he went outside, he was confronted by four youths, he said. They asked me to drop charges against the V-C, he stated. When contacted, the investigation officer A K Suresh, who is assistant commissioner of police, said: "We have not received any complaint from Vijayakumar."
On condition of anonymity, an officer said preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused has misbehaved with Saritha.
